Terms of Use

​

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Central Church of Christ website, the Central Pulse mobile application, and any related online, mobile, communication, event, giving, ministry, media, or account-based features made available by Central Church of Christ through Wix or any other authorized service provider (collectively, the "Services").

​

The Services are provided by Central Church of Christ ("Central," "Central Church," "we," "us," or "our"). Central Pulse is a mobile application operated for the ministry and community purposes of Central Church of Christ and is hosted through Wix Branded App services.

​

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, submitting information, joining a group, registering for an event, viewing content, posting content, communicating with others through the Services, or otherwise interacting with the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

These Terms are intended to apply to both the public Central Church of Christ website and the Central Pulse mobile application, including use through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Wix, and related third-party platforms.

1. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to use the Services, unless a higher minimum age is required by applicable law. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Certain features of the Central Pulse app require users to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep that information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

​

You may not impersonate another person, create an account using false information, use another person's account without permission, or allow unauthorized access to your account. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any account that violates these Terms, creates a safety concern, or is otherwise inconsistent with the mission and safe operation of the Services.

2. Purpose of the Services

The Services are provided for church communication, ministry participation, event information, community engagement, spiritual formation, media access, giving links, group involvement, volunteer coordination, and other lawful ministry-related purposes.

The Services are not intended to provide legal, medical, financial, emergency, counseling, or crisis-response services. If you are experiencing an emergency, believe someone is in immediate danger, or need urgent assistance, call 911 or contact local emergency services immediately.

 

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful, respectful, and appropriate purposes. You may not use the Services to upload, post, transmit, distribute, solicit, promote, link to, or otherwise make available any content or activity that:

1. is unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, fraudulent, deceptive, or otherwise harmful;

2. violates the rights, privacy, dignity, safety, or intellectual property of another person;

3. promotes violence, self-harm, illegal activity, exploitation, trafficking, abuse, or predatory behavior;

4. contains malware, viruses, phishing attempts, spam, unauthorized advertising, or other malicious code or conduct;

5. attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Services, user accounts, Wix systems, or any related network, server, database, or platform;

6. interferes with, disrupts, damages, burdens, reverse engineers, scrapes, copies, or misuses the Services or any underlying technology;

7. misrepresents your identity, affiliation, authorization, age, or relationship to Central Church of Christ; or

8. is inconsistent with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, applicable law, app store requirements, or the purpose of the Services.
    

We reserve the right, but do not assume the obligation, to review, moderate, remove, restrict, report, or preserve content or account information when we believe it is necessary to protect users, comply with law, enforce these Terms, maintain the integrity of the Services, or protect Central Church of Christ and the community we serve.

4. Child Safety Standards and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Central Church of Christ and Central Pulse maintain a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation, child endangerment, child sexual abuse material, grooming, trafficking, sextortion, or any other conduct that exploits, abuses, sexualizes, targets, or endangers minors.

For purposes of these Terms, "CSAE" means child sexual abuse and exploitation, including any content, conduct, communication, solicitation, grooming behavior, coercion, trafficking, sextortion, or other activity that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child. "CSAM" means child sexual abuse material, including any visual depiction, image, video, computer-generated image, or other material involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct or otherwise depicting the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor.

Users are strictly prohibited from using the Services to create, upload, post, store, transmit, distribute, request, solicit, promote, normalize, link to, facilitate, or otherwise engage in any CSAE, CSAM, or child endangerment activity. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:
 

1. creating, possessing, sharing, requesting, threatening to share, or distributing CSAM;

2. grooming or attempting to groom a minor for sexual activity, sexual conversation, exploitation, image exchange, or offline contact;

3. sexualizing a minor or depicting, describing, encouraging, or promoting the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor;

4. sextortion, blackmail, coercion, threats, or manipulation involving real or alleged intimate images of a minor;

5. advertising, arranging, facilitating, or soliciting the trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation of a child;

6. inappropriate interaction targeted at a child, including sexualized comments, requests, messages, or physical-contact references;

7. using the Services to contact, identify, locate, manipulate, isolate, or exploit a minor;

8. encouraging minors to engage in dangerous, harmful, sexual, exploitative, or unlawful conduct;

9. uploading or distributing adult sexual content in areas of the Services that are accessible to or likely to be accessed by minors; and

10. any other content or conduct that violates applicable child protection laws or app store child safety standards.
     

Any violation of this section may result in immediate removal of content, account suspension or termination, preservation of relevant records, reporting to law enforcement, reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), reporting to a relevant regional child safety authority, and any other action we determine is necessary or appropriate under applicable law.

 

5. Reporting Child Safety Concerns and In-App Feedback

Users may report safety concerns, inappropriate content, suspected abuse, suspected CSAE, suspected CSAM, account misuse, harassment, or other violations of these Terms through available in-app reporting or feedback tools, website contact forms, or by contacting our designated child safety point of contact.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or emergency services immediately before contacting us.
 

When we receive actual knowledge of suspected CSAM, CSAE, or child endangerment involving the Services, we will take appropriate action, which may include reviewing the report, removing or disabling access to content, restricting or terminating accounts, preserving evidence as permitted or required by law, and reporting confirmed or suspected CSAM to NCMEC, law enforcement, Google Play, Apple, Wix, or other applicable authorities as required or permitted by law.
 

Knowingly submitting false reports, abusing reporting tools, or using safety reporting mechanisms to harass others is prohibited and may result in account restrictions or termination.

 

6. User Content

The Services may allow users to submit, upload, post, display, communicate, or otherwise provide content, including names, profile information, images, comments, messages, event responses, group interactions, prayer requests, feedback, or other materials ("User Content").

You retain ownership of any rights you hold in your User Content. By submitting User Content through the Services, you grant Central Church of Christ a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, moderate, remove, and otherwise use such User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, protect, promote, and improve the Services and the ministries of Central Church of Christ.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights and permissions necessary to submit your User Content and that your User Content does not violate these Terms, any law, or the rights of any third party. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of submitting it.

We may remove, restrict, or refuse any User Content at any time if we believe it violates these 

Terms, creates a safety concern, infringes rights, violates law, or is inconsistent with the purpose of the Services.

7. Community Communications and Ministry Groups

The Services may include groups, messaging, comments, event discussions, member directories, forms, or other community features. These features are intended to support healthy church communication and ministry connection.

​

You agree to communicate respectfully and appropriately. Harassment, bullying, threats, sexual content, predatory behavior, discrimination, intimidation, stalking, doxxing, or misuse of member information is prohibited. Information obtained through the Services may not be used for spam, solicitation, commercial marketing, political campaigning, harassment, or any purpose unrelated to appropriate church or ministry communication.

We may monitor, moderate, restrict, or remove access to community features when necessary to protect users, comply with law, or maintain the intended purpose of the Services.

​

8. Online Giving, Payments, Events, and Third-Party Services

The Services may include links or integrations for online giving, event registration, payments, forms, media, video, email, maps, social media, or other third-party tools. These services may be provided by Wix, payment processors, app stores, media platforms, or other third parties.

Central Church of Christ does not directly store full payment card information. Payment and donation transactions are processed by third-party providers according to their own terms, privacy policies, and security practices. You are responsible for reviewing any third-party terms that apply to your use of those services.

We are not responsible for the content, policies, security, availability, errors, acts, omissions, or practices of third-party websites, platforms, applications, or service providers. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

​

Unless otherwise stated, donations and payments may be subject to separate refund, tax, charitable giving, or event policies. Questions about giving records, event registration, or payment issues may be directed to Central Church of Christ using the contact information below.

9. Wix, App Stores, and Platform Terms

 

Our website and Central Pulse app are hosted through Wix and may be distributed or accessed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and related platforms. Your use of the Services may also be subject to the terms, policies, and technical requirements of Wix, Apple, Google, your device manufacturer, your mobile carrier, and other applicable providers.

These Terms govern your relationship with Central Church of Christ regarding the Services. Wix, Apple, Google, and other third-party providers are not responsible for Central Church of Christ's content, ministry operations, user moderation decisions, or legal obligations except as stated in their own terms and policies.

​

We may modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue any feature of the Services if required by Wix, Apple, Google, law, security needs, technical limitations, ministry needs, or app store requirements.

 

10. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy.

Because the Services are hosted through Wix and may integrate with third-party tools, certain information may also be collected or processed by Wix, app stores, analytics providers, payment processors, communication tools, or other service providers as described in our Privacy Policy and their respective policies.

11. Intellectual Property

All Central Church of Christ and Central Pulse names, logos, designs, graphics, text, sermons, videos, audio recordings, photographs, software elements, ministry materials, page layouts, icons, and other content made available through the Services are owned by Central Church of Christ, its licensors, ministry partners, or other authorized rights holders, unless otherwise stated.

You may access and use our content for personal, non-commercial, church-related purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, remove attribution from, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any Central Church of Christ intellectual property, Central Pulse branding, Wix technology, app store technology, or third-party content.

 

12. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content available through the Services infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us with enough information for us to review the claim, including your name, contact information, a description of the protected work, a description or location of the allegedly infringing material, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.

We may remove or restrict access to content alleged to infringe intellectual property rights and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
 

13. App Availability, Updates, and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. Features may vary by device, operating system, app version, user account status, location, Wix availability, app store rules, or ministry needs.

We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with every device, or free of harmful components. You are responsible for maintaining your own device, internet connection, app updates, and account security.

​

14. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services, remove User Content, disable features, or take other appropriate action at any time if we believe that:

​

1. you violated these Terms or our Privacy Policy;

2. your conduct creates a safety, security, legal, reputational, technical, or ministry concern;

3. your account has been compromised or used without authorization;

4. your content violates applicable law or third-party rights;

5. action is required by Wix, Apple, Google, law enforcement, a court, or another authority; or

6. continued access is inconsistent with the intended purpose of the Services.

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account deletion or assistance by contacting us at the email address listed below, subject to our Privacy Policy and any legal, safety, financial, or recordkeeping obligations.
 

15. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an "as is," "as available," and "with all faults" basis. Central Church of Christ makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Services, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, compatibility, or uninterrupted operation.

Content provided through the Services is for general ministry, informational, devotional, community, and communication purposes. It should not be relied upon as professional legal, medical, financial, emergency, or mental health advice.
 

We do not guarantee that User Content, third-party content, event information, schedules, notifications, messages, or other materials will always be accurate, complete, current, or available.

 

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Central Church of Christ, its elders, ministers, staff, volunteers, officers, representatives, agents, affiliates, service providers, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, including loss of data, loss of goodwill, loss of use, service interruption, unauthorized access, personal device issues, or other damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

17. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Central Church of Christ, its elders, ministers, staff, volunteers, officers, representatives, agents, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your misuse of another person's information, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
 

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a different governing law is required by applicable law. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal courts located in Tennessee, unless otherwise required by law.
 

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on our website or made available through the Central Pulse app. The "Last Updated" date above indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.
 

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms are posted or made available means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
